Hello, I'm Aditya!
I am an upcoming reporter with an interest in financial markets, education, and the gig economy. I admire investigative reportage: an interest borne out of my childhood inclination for detailed documentaries by Isobel Yeung and Johnny Harris. Currently, I am exploring the QGIS and Google Earth Engine software to enhance my Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) skills. By upscaling, I aim to bring a fresh perspective to investigative journalism: informed by evidence, substantiated by data and accounts for all perspectives
I landed my first journalism internship at ThePrint during the summer of 2023. There I was tasked with editing wires from Reuters, PTI, and ANI about the economy, finance, and the Russia-Ukraine war. I also covered the Yamuna floods and wrote some opinion and feature pieces. As a wire intern I contributed to the Last Laughs and Go to Pakistan columns of ThePrint. A few months later I joined The Edict, Ashoka's independent newspaper, as a staff writer in the news department to try my hand at covering campus issues. It was a hands-on job learning experience, and I utilised the opportunity to experiment with my journalistic agility: live Twitter threads, protest coverage, wire articles, and long-form investigative articles. I served as The Edict's news and founding games editor during my last year of college. In January this year, I interned at The Reporters’ Collective, co-writing New Home for Hate, an investigative piece that helped uncover an ecosystem of political apps and alternative social media platforms which were built for political campaigning.
